iBreve develops self-care solutions that focus on prevention & promote healthy living. It was founded by two former Google employees aiming to create a world free of stress related diseases. iBreve’s new patent-pending wearable technology analyzes respiratory patterns in real-time, enabling market applications for stress reduction, remote monitoring and chronic disease management.

iBreve is one of the European projects which have already participated in of CRAASH Barcelona, the acceleration program Biocat organized in collaboration with CIMIT (Boston) which is part of the bootcamp programs run by EIT Health.

Biocat has opened the call for applications to the 3rd edition of CRAASH Barcelona, a 12-week acceleration program that helps research teams from Catalonia and other European countries successfully launch innovation to market in the healthtech arena. The deadline for applications is 16 March. The program is looking for projects with cutting-edge technology (diagnostics, devices or e-/digital health) from research centers, research institutes or universities in the BioRegion of Catalonia and from all over Europe.

CRAASH Barcelona is open to research projects in the proof-of-concept or proof-of-feasibility phase. Established companies may also apply if they are looking for an application for their technology and/or searching for/validating a business model. The program is free of charge, equity free and offers teams up to €10,000 to cover travel expenses.

Flavia Wahl, co-founder of iBreve, was named in Forbes among the top 50 Women-Led Startups Disrupting HealthTech and was winner of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur for Dublin City. Before founding iBreve she worked for Google in Dublin & Boston. Flavia Wahl tells us about his experience as a participant in CRAASH Barcelona.

Why did you decide to participate in CRAASH Barcelona?

We participated in order to learn, validate and grow. We were particularly interested in the mentoring from CIMIT in Boston as they have a very good reputation and the US is an important market for us.

How did CRAASH Barcelona help you to evolve the project?

In particular, from the business side and networking side the program was super beneficial. We made valuable connections both in Europe and the US, with which we are still in close contact.

What did you like the most from the program?

The mentoring and our trip to Boston, where we presented iBreve at the MedTech Showcase & DeviceTalks Boston, were insightful & fun!

Would you recommend other entrepreneurs to participate in CRAASH Barcelona?

Any entrepreneur within digital health, medtech or biotech should consider applying for the CRAASH Barcelona program as it truly accelerates your business and connects you with international leaders in the field.

How has your project evolve since you finished the program?

The project has rapidly grown since we participated in the program. We work now with several international partners in different fields & applications. Since then, iBreve won several innovation challenges, received funding for its dedication to sustainability & got featured in large newspapers around the world.

If you want to follow iBreve’s steps, the call for applications to the 3rd edition of CRAASH Barcelona is open. The deadline for applications is 16 March.
